About.

Some of the things I help people with include depression and low mood, worry and anxiety, stress, grief and loss, problems with anger, and difficulty adjusting to change and new circumstances.

I particularly like working with people experiencing problems with their relationships (not just with intimate partners). I am interested in the ways that people relate to others, and the ways that they relate to themselves.

I also have an interest in helping clients struggling with perfectionism and self-criticism, particularly where this shows up in the context of things like work, study (VCE and university), decision-making, and relationships.

People come to therapy for lots of different reasons. You do not need to have a diagnosed mental disorder to schedule an appointment.

I value an evidence-based, relational, and collaborative approach to therapy. My work incorporates aspects of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and other empirically-supported frameworks.

Outside of private practice, I work in a public outpatient mental health service, where I provide therapy to adults with complex psychiatric needs.

FAQ.

  • At your first appointment, we will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy. I will also ask you questions about yourself (your early life, your family, and other important relationships and experiences). This helps me to understand you, and helps me to plan how I can assist you. This initial assessment can take 1-3 sessions.

  • Please bring your referral and Mental Health Care Plan (if you have one). You are most welcome to send this prior to your first appointment.

  • No. A referral enables you to access Medicare rebates, but you do not need one to see a psychologist.

  • Yes. Online consultations are available via Zoom. I consult in-person in Windsor on Mondays and Thursdays, but Zoom is always an option if this is more convenient for you.
